The store: Habitat
What Don’t call it a shopping centre: this easy-breezy cluster of stores at North Beach is much more pleasant.
Go for Flagship shop Habitat Collective, which houses more than 40 local fashion and homewares brands; ethical beauty emporium Prae; and well-edited men’s space Department of Simple Things.
But don’t miss Barrio, Habitat’s airy cafe with an Argentinian menu.

The spa: Osprey Spa
What The pre-eminent spa in Australia’s wellness capital, part of the Elements of Byron resort. Go for Local-ingredient treatments such as body exfoliation with lemon myrtle plus 90-minute full-body massages.

The hotel: Raes on Wategos
What A 1960s-built, boho-cool boutique sleep right on Wategos Beach with, according to legend, gardens designed by Salvador Dalí.
Go for Easy access to Byron Bay’s best out-of-town bits: Fisherman’s Lookout and Cape Byron Lighthouse.
