Parents who lose a baby during pregnancy, birth or infancy need to know they are not alone and that support is available to them. Founded in 2010, Aching Arms is a UK-based charity led by bereaved mothers with a mission to support the well-being of affected families, provide comfort teddy bears for parents’ empty arms and direct them to professional support.
When Aching Arms started, the aim was to send 10 bears to one hospital. Currently, it works with 140 UK hospitals, leads training to improve bereavement care and has donated more than 15,000 bears. They are seeking donations, fundraisers and support on a global scale.
