The most wellness-focused city in the world? Los Angeles gives the rest a run for their money. The city is responsible for taking an age-old industry and updating it for today, with more juice bars, yoga studios and cleansing clinics than anywhere else. And if you’re not into the more extreme end of the wellness spectrum, there’s also the sun, sea and miles of sandy beach to de-stress the old-fashioned way. We’ve rounded up the best places in the city to practise some self-care.
Detox with a fresh juice
What Los Angeles Grand Central Market opened in 1917 with just a butchery section, dairy department and fresh farm-grown produce, but much has changed since then. The market has seen quite a renaissance, with trendy health enterprises moving in. One of these new vendors is the Press Brothers Juicery. Brothers JD and David’s raw juices are pressed daily from fruits and vegetables and provide live enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Plus, they’re certified organic by the US Department of Agriculture.
