A three-day celebration at Yas Marina
Never one to shy away from a celebration, Yas Marina is once again hosting their annual Eid al-Adha fireworks evenings. There’ll be shows from 12-14 August at 9pm. Watch from one of the boats in the marina, like Captain Tony’s, who are hosting dedicated Eid Fireworks cruises for the best vantage point in the city.
Eid al-Adha brunch at St Regis
One of the most extravagant brunches in the emirate, the St Regis Abu Dhabi is putting an Eid spin on their regular Friday brunch. Expect fresh seafood and sushi, fine-grilled cuts at a live food station. And that’s just before the dessert and cheese rooms (yes, rooms). For Friday 9 August only you get a complimentary upgrade to the next brunch package up.
Eid food festival
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is hosting an Arabic and Italian food festival this Eid al-Adha. Running over five days and with live shows and entertainment, the theme park will host food stalls, cooking competitions and live demos with some of the best chefs in the region. They’re also extending their opening hours on Thursday and Friday until 10pm. Just make sure you go on all of the rides before you eat…
Arabian festival at The Galleria
Visit the Arabian tent at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island during Eid al-Adha, where they’ll be giving out free dates and Arabic coffee. There are also Al-Ayyala performances – also known as the “stick dance”. It’s a traditional form of folk dancing in the UAE and north-western Oman where men perform with canes in two rows and are accompanied by singing and drumming. Many of The Galleria’s restaurants also have offers throughout the festive period, such as Roberto’s, who are adding an Eid sharing platter to their menu.
