UAE National Day at Zayed Sports City stadium
What Every year, the biggest stadium in the city plays host to a huge evening show on 2 December that commemorates the founding of the UAE, attended by around 20,000 people. This year is no different and the theme of the show is “Legacy of our Ancestors”.
Don’t miss Amazing effects, sound and visuals show the UAE may have strong traditional roots but exists firmly in the present. More than 80 musicians from around the world created the show’s score.
Yasalam After-Race Concerts
What The days leading up to the UAE National Day are dominated by the F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and the nights are a flurry of celebration when international artists perform at the du Arena.
Don’t miss Marshmello (28 November) and Travis Scott (29) are must-sees, but Lana del Rey (30) is rumoured to be putting on a massive show, and The Killers (1 December) are an excellent finish to the race weekend and start of the National Day celebrations.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
What Every year, for National Day, the mosque hosts dedicated prayers to remember the UAE’s founding fathers. It’s a place for quiet reflection on the founding of a nation.
Don’t miss The light projection show on the outside of the building at night, with the mosque’s stark white exterior providing a blank canvas for a cutting-edge display of shape-shifting Arabic patterns.
Abu Dhabi National Day Air Show
What Head down to the Corniche between 4-5pm when there’ll be a fly-by from the UAE Air Force’s Mirage 2000 and F-16 planes, performing aerial acrobatics and painting the sky with plumes of smoke in UAE national colours. Take time to stop by the food and craft stalls that line the beachfront.
Don’t miss The spectacular fireworks show, at 9pm, closes the event with a shower of lights, as it does every year. If you can’t make it down to the Corniche, there are firework displays at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium and the Al Dahfra festival, too.
