Where is home?
Now it’s LA, but I grew up in Sacramento.
Name a place that most lived up to the hype
I love living in the hills of LA – it’s way more peaceful than what people may think of the city. You have wine country, forests, mountains…
Which is your favourite city, and why?
Tokyo, I think. It’s one of those places most people have seen before on TV but it’s even more amazing in person.
What’s your favourite view?
We shot a lot of Kong: Skull Island in Hawaii – it sounds simplistic but, over there, just looking at the ocean is just breathtaking.
What’s your favourite hotel?
The Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii is so beautiful and grand.
Best thing you’ve learnt on a trip?
I love to learn about culture and recently had a great time exploring Singapore – the museums, the sights and the food, which was some of the best I have ever eaten.
Earliest travel memory?
We moved to Burbank when I was kid and lived in a tiny studio apartment near the Disney and Warner Brother Studios. I quickly saw that I was living in a city of dreamers; I love that about LA.
What’s the best dish you’ve eaten on your travels?
I love the local, organic comfort food at Cooks County [now Market Provisions], right on the edge of Beverly Hills.
I always pack…
I love to read, so usually a book or two.
My best-kept travel secret is…
The São Paulo Museum of Art is amazing to look around if art’s your thing.
When I’m in the mood for some retail therapy on my travels, I must visit…
Living in LA, I’ve no shortage of great places to shop. There are some really cool boutique furniture shops.
When I’m in the mood to paint the town red, I hit…
It’s all about the company – but New York is always great, starting with dinner.
My favourite travel pastime is…
Exploring – even better, exploring with a local. I saw Vietnam a couple of years ago on the back of a motorbike with a local showing me all the places I needed to see. That was so much fun.
