Where is home?
I’ve got a place in LA where I spend a lot of time. But Toronto is always going to be home in my heart.
Where in the world have you felt happiest?
Probably when I’m in Toronto; I love to travel but there’s nowhere like home.
Name a place that most lived up to the hype
The UAE: I went a couple of years back after hearing so much about it but I’ve been back since. The last time was the Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi.
Which is your favourite city, and why?
London: it has absolutely everything, I love performing there. Now’s not the time but it’s probably one of the few cities I could see myself calling home at some point in the future.
Describe your favourite view
Top of the CN Tower in Toronto at night.
What’s your favourite hotel?
That’s tough. But I keeping going back to the Four Seasons, Toronto or a suite at the MGM, Vegas.
Best thing you’ve learnt on a trip…
To be at peace. I work so hard – so it’s important to be totally at peace with everything. I first got that in the Dominican Republic and I’ve been trying to practise it ever since.
Earliest travel memory?
Travelling from Toronto to Memphis to see my father when I was a kid. Memphis has this very important musical history and it’s a city that I still love to visit.
Your favourite place to eat?
In Toronto: Vivoli in Little Italy does the best pasta and pizza I’ve ever tasted. Otherwise, Carbone in New York does a great spicy rigatoni.
I always pack…
A MacBook. Sometimes for work or catching up on emails or just checking sports websites.
When I’m in the mood for some retail therapy on my travels, I visit…
It depends on what I am looking to buy, but I love Miami for sneaker shopping. They have some great stores.
When I’m in the mood to paint the town red, I hit…
Las Vegas – it’s a place where I love to party. Every time I perform at Hakkasan I have the best night.
My favourite travel pastime is…
I love watching sports – NBA especially. But I watch pretty much any major sporting event – there’s nothing like watching it live.
