Where is home?
Australia. I haven’t been going back there anywhere near as much as I would have liked over the last few years, but it’s still where my roots are. Until recently it was London, but last year I moved to Los Angeles. I love London, but so much of my work was in LA and I’d had enough of living in hotels, so it made sense.
Name a place that most lived up to the hype
Everybody wants their honeymoon to be amazing [Robbie married British assistant film director Tom Ackerley in 2016] and we could not have picked a more beautiful place than Tahiti. The island is stunning.
Which is your favourite city, and why?
Outside of Australia, London. I didn’t just live there – I became a Londoner. It’s a time of my life I will always cherish.
Describe your favourite view
We got married in Byron Bay so it holds special memories. But even without that, the view looking out to the ocean is beyond beautiful.
Best thing you’ve learnt on a trip?
Never order drinks in St Mark’s Square in Venice – it’s obscenely expensive. I spent two months in Italy with friends and loved it, but we ordered Cokes in the square and honestly thought there had been a mistake with the check.
What’s the best dish you’ve eaten on your travels?
The Truffle Burger from Umami Burger in the US. If you ever pass an outlet, you absolutely have to order it.
I always pack…
I wear make-up to the airport, but always take it off as soon as I am in my seat. The complexion pads by Peter Thomas Roth are great for travel. Face masks are great as well, especially on long-haul flights – if you put one on for 10 minutes before landing it really freshens you up.
My best-kept travel secret is…
Infernos, a nightclub in Clapham, London. You can rock up at 2am and nobody cares who you are. How many nightclubs are there that will randomly play the Baywatch theme song?
When I’m in the mood to paint the town red, I hit…
Vegas or London. When I think back to the best nights I have had in my life, quite a few of them were in either of those places.
My favourite travel pastime is…
I love to scuba dive – if I hadn’t been an actress I probably would have become a scuba-diving instructor.
