Where is home?
I was born in Birkenhead just outside of Liverpool – but moved to Wales when I was a kid and consider myself very much Welsh.
Where in the world have you felt happiest?
At the moment I’m travelling so much, but what makes me happy is knowing my mum is only ever a phone call away.
Name a place that most lived up to the hype prior to visiting
Cannes. Rocketman premiered there this year to a standing ovation, which was so emotional. Plus I got to perform with Elton [John], so it’s always going to be special for me.
Which is your favourite city, and why?
London. It has a great musical heritage – and things really started for Elton around London’s Denmark Street, a very important place for British music.
Describe your favourite view
We filmed some of Eddie the Eagle at an Austrian ski resort called Seefeld. The view from the mountain top was beautiful.
What’s the best dish you’ve eaten on your travels?
I like everything at Craig’s in West Hollywood, California. It’s simple American food done in the best way. One to visit if you’re ever in LA, for sure.
I always pack…
Music – I make sure my phone always has some of my favourite tunes on it. I do like some newer bands, but mainly listen to older stuff like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and I absolutely love David Bowie.
My best-kept travel secret is…
It’s not a secret for anybody who lives in the UK, but I love Brighton. It’s such a cool, vibrant seaside town.
When I’m in the mood for some retail therapy on my travels, I visit…
I’m probably biased because of Kingsman but there’s such a classic, British feel to Savile Row. I don’t think there is a better or cooler place in the world to be fitted for a suit.
When I’m in the mood to paint the town red, I hit…
It has to be London again – I’ve had so many great nights out there when I was a drama student.
My favourite travel pastime is…
At the moment all the travel I am doing is work, work, work – but, if it’s not, I am a big fan of the beach.
