Where is home?
I live in New York, which always has a great buzz to it, but I feel most at home with my family in Sydney and Auckland.
Where in the world are you happiest?
At the beach with my family. Onetangi beach on Waiheke Island [a short ferry ride from Auckland] is a beautiful, long stretch of white sand with just the right amount of surf for body surfing.
What’s your favourite view?
The best hotel you’ve stayed at?
Blake’s Hotel in South Kensington. London has the healthiest, most delicious food, unique rooms and a cosy lounge.
Best thing you’ve learnt on a trip?
I think the most important thing I’ve learnt from travelling so much is that there is beauty in different cultures and no right or wrong way to live.
Earliest travel memory…
I travelled with my family non-stop growing up. We were in a different city every week as my dad was a touring golf pro in Europe and Australia. I was about two weeks old on my first plane trip so don’t remember too much of that journey, but my first memorable trip would have been to Italy. I was blown away by the architecture and, of course, the food.
What’s the best dish you’ve eaten on your travels…
Italian gelato, a French crêpe, or a Mexican taco.
I always pack…
Running shoes. And bikinis! You just never know when you’re going to get a chance for a dip.
My best-kept travel secret is . . .
Sleep! As much as possible on the flight, or at least just rest your eyes. I like to listen to podcasts while flying, I find it kind of soothing background noise, and hopefully I learn a thing or two as well.
When I’m in the mood for some retail therapy on my travels, I must visit…
I love shopping at little boutiques so I try to find areas in the city that I can wander and stumble upon hidden gems. The Marais in Paris, or Notting Hill in London are both favourites.
When I’m in the mood to paint the town red, I hit . . .
Hopefully a local bar!
My favourite travel pastime is . . .
I love to walk as much as possible when I’m in a new city. It’s the best way to see the whole place and not just the tourist destinations.
