Perth: hardly the first city in which you’d expect to find international fashion brands. Still, it’s working for Man-tle, a label known for its pop-coloured, made-to-last menswear founded by husband-and-wife duo Larz Harry and Aida Kim. The pair left Tokyo design jobs at Comme des Garçons to start the label in 2015. “We chose Perth because, here, we can have real clarity with our work,” says Harry. Available worldwide (Sanlipop, Beijing; Hostem, London), by far the duo’s biggest devotees are in the Japanese capital where this month their new collection, R4, opens at some of the city’s biggest boutiques with a stand-out pop-up at Arts & Science (from 2 February) as well as an exclusive Man-tle bag launch at District United Arrows (9 February).
